Ambivalence and fear are normal and expected, especially because disordered eating and exercise behaviors are encouraged and praised by society. In rec When your ED / disordered voice/ diet culture pops in, channel your inner Jessica Day and shut 👏 it 👏 down👏

It’s like a middle finger to diet culture but more professional and way tastier 😋 

Finally working my way through @chr1styharrison’s book Anti-Diet and loving every bit of it. Christy was my introduction to the non diet Diet culture is built on a bed of lies. One of those more insidious lies is that being in a calorie deficit is health promoting. It’s not. Being chronically underfed is stressful on the body and can actually lead to increased cortisol and infla Body love can be hard for so many different reasons that are deep rooted and personal. The thing that is a constant is that your body has your back, it’s fighting for you, it’s there for you and it can be your home. If loving your body fe Body image concerns, distortions, and disordered eating can run deep, and they can be passed down thru generations. It doesn’t have to be that way. With awareness comes choice. Of course not everyone who comes from a family of dieters / eating
